Making the decision to put the sun in the picture was a difficult one, since I knew I'd lose a lot of the surface colour and some of its detail. However, given the result, I think it looks good.

The water and sky were also real pains to get right - I was trying out different cloud formations for a good two hours before finding one which worked, and I think the water is just rippled enough to look realistic.

Render time: 5 hours.

A very beautiful image to be sure, the water looks a little flat, but other than that it's a nice, crisp and pleasing image

Thanks! I think it's dark enough as it is; that's part of the problem with the landscape - but that's because it's shadowed by the presence of the sun.
